Course Description:

Participants will explore several ethnic identity theories to help oppressed older youth of color who are struggling with AOD use/abuse/addiction to manage their behavior due to ethnicism, trauma, and consistent exposure to violence. They will integrate ethnic identity theories into practice through scenarios, video clips, games, self-reflection, and group discussions to improve their efficacy assisting older youth of color to embrace their ethnic identity and transform their self-awareness into positive behavioral change.
